Newsletter Update
I've changed the name of my newsletter from the Filmmaking Central newsletter to Creative Economist because I want to broaden my scope beyond traditional filmmaking and into a modern era of creation.
Many people these days don't identify with the word "filmmaker". It's antiquated at its core by the inclusion of the word "film" - a mysterious substance most young filmmakers have yet to experience. Instead, many people classify themselves as a creator - one who creates film/video/art and so forth.
I also wanted the newsletter to stand on its own. You don't have to be a part of the Filmmaking Central community to enjoy and gain a lot of value from the newsletter. But, of course, participating in both is perfectly wonderful.
Part of this changed was sparked my my own transition into the world of the creator.
For the past 12 months, I've had the opportunity to work with some major brands on their digital campaigns. This meant creating videos for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. 😱
I myself had very little knowledge and experience in these realms, but luckily I had surrounded myself with extremely talented people who had plenty of experience.
It has been a fun journey, and I'm looking forward to sharing more updates and diving into the world of the creative economy.
